NSU Guidebook. Study Skills
"Study skills" is something each and every student should work on. Being a student of NSU requires keeping up with the process of studying. You should always be organized, manage your time and know some tricks of simplifying your studying.
I’d like to give you some ideas from my own experience and from the other students' I’ve interviewed about their studying skills.Personally, I tend to make planners every week, I need to have every day planned, so as to understand which tasks have to be done and what are the deadlines. I also have daily reminders of my deadlines popping up on my phone, it’s just to keep me aware of them.
Some people I've interviewed told me that they tend to listen to music during the breaks in order to relax and get ready for the next classes emotionally. Others usually have snacks to feel upbeat and more energetic which makes the actual process of studying a lot easier. One student told me that she tries to divide the process into university studying and self-education, not to be drawn only in some obligatory subjects but the ones which really inspire her. If she has to write down many notes or lectures from the classes, she turns on classical music to stay fresh and focused. Also, if some students find any interesting information, they try to put it to practice immediately, not to misunderstand some details, etc.
In addition, NSU holds many different meetups and lectures every month for those who want to learn more about time-management and developing some practical skills.
