List of dictionaries I use most

Hello everyone!
Today I’d like to talk about dictionaries. Nowadays there are so many dictionaries of any kind: explanatory, etymology, bilingual, multilingual, etc. People might download them on their phones, use either online versions or buy printed ones.

Personally, I use dictionaries every day; and now I’d like share with you the ones I tend to use most of the time.
  1. Lingvo
This app I downloaded on my phone which was for free. When you open the dictionary, you’re offered some sections to buy if you’re interested in some specific types of words, or you might use free version which is a classic English<->Russian dictionary.
I like this very dictionary most because there are always good examples and synonyms for each word. Also, there are useful phrasals and set expressions-not many, though.
I’m so used to this app that I’m already thinking of buying some other dictionaries included in this program.

  1. Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary
This dictionary I use in a printed version. The heavy thick book contains any word you could ever think of. It’s explanatory one, has several definitions for each word, at least 2 examples and its combinations with prepositions-also explained.
I use this dictionary quite often, especially when I’m completely puzzled about the word which I can’t find anywhere.

  1. Urban Dictionary
It is the last but not least dictionary I’m going to tell you about. It’s online dictionary which has its website. It includes colloquial phrases, slangisms and modern abbreviations. I use it whenever I deal with some modern texts or have a chat with my foreign friends.

All in all, there are much more dictionaries to cover; however, I listed the ones I like most.

Hope it was useful.
